its not straight pipes if it has cats jesus christ that pisses me off. no cats will make it louder, just piping all the way back, a set of headers will help and thats about all you can do, smaller piping will help make it a big louder but give it a worse sound (my opinion)

If you want it loud, cut off the cats, and get 6 inch tips, I had a 1996 chevy tahoe that was true dual, no cats, no mufflers, through 2.25" piping, and came out 6 inch tips, I set car alarms off with it

I should know i have straight pipes (no mufflers). cats arent mufflers and straight pipes is no mufflers so that means it doesnt matter. when they diddnt even use cats, when somebody took off the muffler it was called straight pipes, so when you take off the mufflers, or mufflers and cats, its called straight pipes. get your shit straight!!!

oh and to whoever said smaller piping made it quieter, thats actually the opposite. you will notice a difference from 2 to 3 inch straight pipes trust me, when i had 2 inch duals on my mustang it was really loud and poppy sounding, kind of raspy but when i went with 3 it sounded better (and a little quieter). I wouldn't go bigger then 2.5 on a stock truck though you actually just lose power

@zkl1995 dumbass, you dont know what your talking about. no mufflers is called no mufflers, straight pipes means straight piping all the way back, nothing else, no reasonators, no cats, no mufflers. Why do you think they call them straight pipes and not an exhaust with hacked off mufflers?
