guys on most boxing undercards make nest to nothing. Under $1000. Under $500 in most cases.
At least a first-time UFC fighter is guaranteed to pull in $8000. And double that if he wins.
How are you going to have Mayweather make $40 million and a guy on the undercard makes $400????
And who sees that fighter making $400???

@AccordGTR Yes but top boxers get payed a lot more than top MMA guys, and by top I don't just mean people like Mayweather and Anderson Silva. I am talking about, for example, every one in the UFC, they are all top guys, the best at their sport.

this guy is like 80 hopefully he retires from promoting soon lol

@bigmanbobflyhigh MMA is very far from boxing when it comes to popularity. Boxing is practiced by ALL genres - rich, poor, men, women, old young, professionals, students, everybody. MMA is a small niche market. Sorry but that's a fact.

I have to agree with Arum on the paychecks. Mixed Martial Arts/UFC is arguably a more popular and revenue generating sport than boxing right now and yet top boxers get payed so much more than even UFC fighters. Guys who are in the preliminary fights usually only get around 5,000-6,000 dollars.

@RealCity3 what a stupid comment.. how about you try to fight without proper budget to hire first class trainers, without money to spend for hospital bills, without enough money to get after you retire.. you're such a moron.. The money is the motivation itself, and the sport they went is their passion that's why they are there fighting for your entertainment..
