Alton "graciously" answered my request to do a video referral for me as the Good Eats Director of Photography. One must be careful what one asks for. LOL

  • As many have heard, Alton is retiring Good Eats. As he said, his decision & what a tremendous body of work it has been since the original pilot episodes. Although I will miss the technical and creative challenges of helping create such a mutually entertaining & educational show on a budget that I would have been hard pressed to shoot a national :30 spot I totally respect his decision to retire the concept at the top of its success.

  • The core Good Eats crew has always been a majority freelance/independent contractor operation and now the same talented group will be even more available to new companies and concepts. Please support the team if you know of anyone who could use their/our creativity and experience.

  • Again, very humbling to see all the views & comments. Any who have posted here know, Alton is an amazing fellow. One cannot pigeonhole him as a chef, writer or artist but maybe as a creator.

I have been with him since the "pilot" episodes on 16mm film. I am not leaving Good Eats (where else can you do creative TV & create TV that has a positive impact on families) but as he says I am freelance & to many companies think I only work for AB . Kind of hard to stay in business like that. ;-))

  • You still work for Alton, Marion? Have you been with him from the beginning? Which episodes were the most fun and which do you never want to speak of again? Lol

  • @LuckyGingerSnaps Yes, still work with Alton and enjoy the education and challenges each day. Hard to pinpoint the most fun but the Hawaii "Down and Out in Paradise" was fun and a technical challenge. My NDA will not let me say which ones were the hardest. LOL

  • Alton is the inspiration for me folowing what i wanted to do with my life, be a chef. thanks for everything you do!

  • All of us who have been a part of the Good Eats group very much enjoy the stories from those we have had a positive effect upon. Thanks for the note! Marion

  • Say hi to Alton for us.

Are you done shooting season 14?

  • I love his since of humor! I miss not haveing the food network anymore....Thank God for you tube!!!!

  • @ideawercs Good Eats was also an inspiration for me. Around this time last year, I was extremely depressed, so my doctor recommended that I find some new hobbies to distract myself and fill my time. After watching one episode of Good Eats, I knew that Alton would help me become a great amateur cook. Fast forward one year, and I'm in good spirits, and I have a veritable treasure trove of culinary know-how. Good Eats not only taught me how to cook, it turned my life around. Thanks!

  • I'm sure that was his acai berry smoothie that he shows making on Live and Let Diet. That was a really cute scene, Alton is awesome. But seriously... typewriters? lol

  • @MisteroftheThongs Nah, Kleiner speaks a little more nervously...I do love me some Half-Life though. And Alton Brown.

    But Half-Life > Alton Brown.
