In 1962 the Staple Singers were signed with Riverside records where they cut a couple albums worth of material, plus some non-lp single sides. The gospel recordings they cut between 1962 and 1964 were compiled on a cd entitled Great Day (which I believe is three albums plus some unreleased sides), and it is well worth checking out. This song is among the tracks on that cd, all of them in wide 2-track stereo. If that's not your thing, here is your alternative, the original 45 rpm mix, right off the 45 itself. Enjoy. By the way, Phil Upchuch had a hit with an instrumental version of You Can't Sit Down -- he is playing the electric bass on this recording.
This is amazing!
