She tries to sing it in an over-passionate (but not really) typical way all songs are covered on this show. It comes off as loud and disingenuous. Watch the video of Diana Ross performing it in Japan. That is a true performance.

When I was watching this and heard they were doing songs by Diana Ross, I was saying, "I would DIE if someone did "If We Hold On Together", and then here's Jordin bringin' back my childhood and infinite amounts of tears.
