Natalie was still in a daze. She didnt feel good so she decided to head to the boys dressing room to lay down. The word kept replaying in her head. PREGNANT. She cant be. At least not now. Joe was in full swing with his career, shes only 20, and the public doesnt even know theyre married yet. Its not like its a secret she could hide. Shes going to start getting bigger and people are going to say joe broke his promise. Her thoughts were interrupted when joe came bursting through the door. He quickly walked over to her and gave her a kiss.
Joe: baby are you ok?
She cringed at the word baby. But she couldnt let him know.
Nat: um yeah. Im fine.
Joe: mom told me you werent feeling so good. Do you have a fever?
He rested his hand on her head and she hated not being able to tell him.
Nat: I think Im just getting used to the road.
She sat up and he sat next to her. She looked at him and felt terrible.
Joe: whats wrong?
Nat: n-nothing. Im fine I promise.
She forced a smile and gave him a kiss. But joe knew her too well. There was something on her mind. He didnt want to push it but he hopes its not like before.
Joe: OK. Come on. We got to catch the bus. Were going down to southern cali.
Nat: didnt we just come from there?
Joe: the magic of touring my love.
He helped her up and headed to the bus. Kevin and nick were already waiting and nick noticed something about Natalie.
Nick: you ok?
Nat: yeah Im fine.
He didnt buy it. Just like he knew something was up between joe and her. He looked at her and she couldnt hold his gaze.
Nick: ok. Well Im beat. Goodnight.
Everybody: night.
Kevin: yeah me too. Im out.
Joe and Natalie sat there on the couch. There was an awkward silence between them.
Joe: you want to go to bed.
Nat: no. can we just hang out?
Joe: if thats what you want. I can put on a movie.
Nat: ok.
Joe: what do you want to watch?
Nat: whatever.
Joe got up and grabbed a movie, put it on, grabbed a blanket and went to sit down with Natalie. He wrapped the blanket only around him and sat down.
Joe: gosh this blanket IS SOOO WARM.
Nat: I bet.
Joe: but it would be even better if you were in here.
He opened it up and signaled for her to scoot over.
Nat: did you plan this?
Joe: maybe.
She laughed and got under the blanket with him. He wrapped his arm around her and pulled her in close. He went down to kiss her.
Joe: better?
Nat: much.
Joe: did you watch some of the show?
Nat: some. It was good. didnt know you could do the splits.
Joe: all in due time my love.
They sat and watched the movie. the thought of her being pregnant was eating her up inside. The movie went into a scene where the girl found out she was pregnant. [I dunno Im making up a movie lol]
Nat: joe?
Joe: yeah.
Nat: what do you think about kids?
He was kind of surprised. He looked at her.
Joe: like OUR kids.
Nat: yeah.
Joe: well..
He took some time to think and this only tugged at her heart even more.
Joe: I would love to have kids. I would love for YOU to have my children.
She began to feel a little better.
Joe: but not right now.
And then her world came crashing down.
Joe: I mean Im on tour, we are going to start the show, theres movies lined up, and we are literally deep in this whole fame thing. I want to be there for you and the baby. I want to be there for my family. And I want to be there for you while your pregnant. Besides were still young. Right?
Nat: uh..yeah. Right.
Joe: why do you ask?
Nat; j-just. You know curious.
Joe: but it doesnt mean we cant practice.
He leaned in to give her a kiss but she pulled away.
Nat: um. Im tired. Im going to head to bed.
Joe: O..K.
Nat: night babe.
Joe: goodnight baby.
She felt sick to her stomach. He didnt want kids. Not right now. But what if she IS pregnant. She sighed and quietly cried herself to sleep.
