Funny how those man-made objects happen to be placed near roads in perfect position to maximize danger.
Someday a future culture is going to look back at our road designs and wonder 'what the hell were they thinking?'

I've experienced the "corner wipeout" on my bicycle.
SPEED + CORNER +GRAVEL/WATER = WIPEOUT
I bet you got some serious road rash too, I know I did.

I had a tiny cut on one of my knuckles when my glove came off and a very light scrape on my forearm from the zipper on the sleeve of my jacket. I was helmeted and covered in leather, so It was ok.

From your description it's a classic 'highside' -- gets sideways, suddenly gains traction, flips you off in front of the machine.

it was sort of a half highside....i didn't have a chance to get launched off the high side of the bike because the pole was in the way. ha.

Hey dude, unlucky about your accident, was recently hit by a car and lost my big toe on my foot (despite full bike gear) how are you doing now? will you be riding again???
aj466202 4 years ago
of course. I've been riding for 23 years. First accident in 22 years. You don't give up a way of life because of one accident. I've been riding again for about 2 months. I hope you are riding again.
