I remember the excitement surrounding the Ants when they first appeared and being completely consumed by this and Ant Music. He was, and remains my first and only male crush!

@HRHPrincePhilip1 he has asperger's? huh. i listened to the song again and your interpretation makes more sense.

@pirsocau I think you got it the wrong way around. I always interpreted those lines as being Adam Ant expressing that he did not feel comfortable being white European and that underneath his external appearance there is a red Indian. Infact its not even interpretation. Thats what he says. Quite possibly someone with bipolar or aspergers wouldn't feel they belong to any group. A sense of being different to everybody.

...of their colonizers, and still endure to this day as what's left of their culture is being turned into cheap, tacky, offensive costumes for white, underweight, racist, hipster bitches, and then they turn around and say they do it out of respect. slap in the face.
wow this turned out being way longer than i thought it would. hope it made sense.

... not. it's genocide. the intro to the video creates a strong sense of tribalism between them. adam tells the audience he know how the white people stomped on the natives and all but erased their cultures, and proceeds to describe their course of action: he will be proud of his manner, no matter how mad it is. he revs up his family, boosts their pride, intimidates their enemies, and then shouts out their war cry. they repeat their battle strategy. and in the bridge, he finds a prisoner...

is it the drugs or am i listening to a song about conquering the americas and wiping out all the indigenous people who lived there with no method, just chaos. I feel beneath the white there is a redskin suffering from centuries of taming. redskin was a termed used to describe the natives, who saw their families, tribes, and cultural values and customs get stomped out by whiteness, they get sent to schools that totally whitewash their whole identity and culture. and term into something they're...

I might possibly go see Adam Ant in February. To hear this song live, I just might fucking die happy. The end.
