Killer song. And great work directing Herschel.

Maybe I am a purist, but I prefer the original "Song of Cannonicus" from One of Us's album. John, Christian and Mike did amazing things together. I have liked Opium Den and Reflecting Skin, but One of us was the pinnacle.

@ramizcohen This video was just us having fun being inspired by Guy Richie ganster films like Snatch, and Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels with a bit of Quentin Tarintino thrown in for good measure.
Hope you check in to hear the new stuff,
John Eye

@ramizcohen I also agree with you that Christian was an stunningly innovative guitarist, and we created some amazing music together. I have not yet found another cowriter as inspirational as he was to work with and wish he had stuck around. I apologize for him not being around to continue to add to the music you love. Hopefully some of the tracks off the next album will be more to your liking as they are more of a return to melodic and laid back composition styles.

@ramizcohen The re-envisioning was just an exercise that came about after recording the original arrangement as a way of stretching our creativity and led us down some unexpected paths. Hopefully Ride will be more to your liking (laid back and more melodic), which I will be releasing a video for within a few weeks.

@ramizcohen At the time of recording Sky Clad we just didn't understand how to properly record a song that heavy. We did the best we could at the time, but the new recording is much better and features the original drummer from the Sky Clad lineup.

@ramizcohen I understand your sentiment. This version of the song didn't turn out quite the way I had envisioned, but it did serve its purpose as one of several re-envisionings of Song of Cannonicus. There are seven different versions, including the original arrangement recorded and mixed much better than the Sky Clad mix which you can listen to on my official site.
