The Obama administration has taken the stance that the feds don't need a warrant before placing a tracker on someone's car without their knowledge. Now an environmental activist has handed over a tracking device she found on her car to Wired.com to help expose more information on what they look like, and how to find them. • the 4th Amendment to the Constitution says it very well. A car is property, the act of changing it without the consent of the owner is a unreasonable search. (The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.)
