@m19921992 the reason i want a 540 is because of the amount of power it has. I get 15 in the city in my 525i 2001.

@m5dinan keep in mind though, I don't drive a 540i for economy reasons. It is my daily driver, but I didn't buy it with gas mileage being my priority.

@m5dinan Gas mileage is dependent on driving style however I average about 19 in mixed driving and as high as 25mpg on long freeway trips. As for how much to fill the tank, thats relative to the price per gallon at the time so I can't say for sure, probably about $75 for a fill up.

I was actually amazed with the gas mileage my 540i got, high teens in city low teens when I'm having fun of course, I constantly got above 25 hwy without any doubt and usually averaged 28 on a road trip, according to my calculations not the trip computer. I did get 32 on a nice 55mph winding road once. but yeah, get it for the power not the mileage
