The ACLU and CCR have filed a lawsuit challenging the government's targeted killing of three U.S. citizens in drone strikes far from any armed conflict zone.

In Al-Aulaqi v. Panetta (Al-Awlaki v. Panetta) the groups charge that the U.S. government's killings of U.S. citizens Anwar Al-Aulaqi, Samir Khan, and 16-year-old Abdulrahman Al-Aulaqi in Yemen last year violated the Constitution's fundamental guarantee against the deprivation of life without due process of law.

The killings were part of a broader program of "targeted killing" by the United States outside the context of armed conflict and based on vague legal standards, a closed executive process, and evidence never presented to the courts.

My government has become the greatest terror of all. We've murdered hundreds of thousands of Iraqi citizens in a war that was based on lies, we are rolling back fundamental liberties in a surreal war on terror, and our president engages in targeted killings. Meanwhile, millions of strategically misled American citizens unwittingly condone a slide into fascism. Cheering over murder, believing lies on Fox and celebrating ignorance. I am sick over what my country has become.

It's astonishing to see Democrats and other Obama supporters remaining deafeningly silent on this issue. I'm as far as you get from a Bush man but if this were president Bush or McCain, we would not hear the end of this.

Please stop beating yourself up, it was never your government, and 'we' certainly haven't killed anyone. Put the blame where it belongs, on the US Federal Government, an outdated, dangerous, and militaristic organization that is no longer necessary.

That's completely untrue. Maybe in terms of philosophical books, but that's just an appeal to authority. Harry potter and Twilight have outsold that book by a long shot.

We have to stop this. These are war crimes. They are worse than the torture under George W. I am a Democrat. I oppose Obama, and I oppose drone strikes.

NO, Atlas shrugged is NOT the most widely read book in the world, not even close --your assertion is simply wrong--care to provide evidence of that ? (can't be done!)

The Bible is the most widely read book in the world, followed by Harry Potter, The Quotation of Mao, & Lord of the Rings.

Atlas shrugged doesn't even make the top ten....or the top twenty.

FACTS --they matter to literate people....but the4n again, you Randites might not worry over them too much.
