NYC boy Wolf Wigo aspires to become a member of the USA Olympic water polo team, overcomes the geographical and health obstacles until through training and determination he makes his dream come true 10 years later. Through Wolf's story viewers
are treated to a rare celebration of this exciting and rigorous sport played for the love of the game alone in the USA since it's not a professional sport here. They will be dazzled by the chiseled bodies of the most fit of all athletes and by the beauty of the aggressive and skillful actions of the best players in the world competing in Europe, Australia, Asia, the Caribbean, and in the USA. They will meet the top players in the world and will see exciting action both above and below the water. The players must be able to swim over 2 miles in a game, shoot the ball accurately while resisting their opponents' wrestling like opposition all without a leg to stand on since they can't touch the bottom or sides of the pool during play. This is an inspirational film for competitors in any sport with a sense of brotherhood that crosses politics, language and borders. The behind the scenes look at his quest reveals an intriguing journey about commitment, steadiness, caring and love. For more information go to www.waterpolofilm,com

  • You are right! AND...it's also a real woman's sport. The USA women, for example, have medaled in all three Olympics in which they have competed ... and this is every one since women were included in the Olympic Games in 2000!

    Where do you play?

  • For all you socalled "athletes". We dont move in a straight line, we dont run into each other then take a break, we dont wear pads, and we never stop going. We dont have one simple job per player. We are offense, defense, driver, blocker, and striker. We make our own choices on the fly, in the heat of battle, We dont get little breathers in between action to have one guy tell us what to do. We play a REAL sport.

  • @burnsy111976 # you got that right! Where do you play polo and at what level?

  • @DawnMicheleYoung I played for 7th and 8th grade and all four years of high school on varsity. I played in Clubs in So Cal and went up to J.O.'s and lots of international tournaments and such. Im now playing in a D1 college in So Cal.

  • @burnsy111976 I can see why you're such an authority and advocate for water polo...congratulations on all your good playing!

  • I loved this video :) I highly recommend it for kids who want to play water polo but feel there are too many obstacles. Wolf and his family are inspirational and all of the insight into higher level water polo is really interesting!! I ordered it for my son and he's had his water polo ball in his hands ever since. I think it gave him a feeling that there's someone like him out there. Message, do what you love and anything you do will be great!! Thanks Dawn for making this film!!

  • @burnsy111976 Amen bro! I love all the football players at my school (It's really popular at my school) They call all of us swimmers and polo players gay when they're wearing pads and getting minute breaks in between plays. I've dislocated my finger twice during practice, i had my Athletic trainer put it back in place, tape it up and get back in..

  • @burnsy111976 what high school in SD did you play for?

  • this is so cool !

  • This is great! :) Waterpolo is the best sport on the planet :)

  • I didn't know there was a sport called Water polo. There should be more attention towards sports like these because Waterpolo is a combination of football, wrestling, soccer, swimming and basketball shooting combined! Crazy sport!

  • What an intense sport! Thank you so much for shedding some light on a sport that doesn't receive a lot of national media attention. I had no idea how exciting and intense water polo really is! Definitely going to have to check this out in person.
