Step by Step Guide to Taming Hamsters...
A few more tips before you get started:
- Never wake a sleeping hamster... you will more than likely get bitten!
- Always wash your hands before handling... if you smell of food or something threatening (such as a cat) then you are likely to get bitten
- You should spend 10-15 minutes 2-3 times a day minimum with your hamster when you are trying to tame them. Its best in the evening when the hamster is awake and most alert.
- Never just grab them... If you scare them then you may get bitten.
- Always talk softly to them before putting your hand in, to let them know you are there so you dont make them jump.

So i got a hamster almost three weeks ago, and she'll let me pet her and she'll take food from me, and always comes over to greet me at the door of the cage (probley because she thinks it's time for a treat.) but she still wont let me hold her. She darts off so quickly.....She doesn't mind my fingers or hand in her cage, just wont let me hold her. Is that normal? Do you think she needs alittle more time? She seems very curious of me, and tends to love it when I talk to her. Any suggestions?

My hamster isn't totally used to me yet but she at least let's me hold her; she always climbs the bars of her cage whenever she wants attention; it's either that or she just likes to climb her cage.

im getting one in april cuz i have to pay for everything except food the overall cost for everyhing is $510 but thats the only way i can get one so dont beg for one
