(Part #2, interview + live performance)
Back in 1992 guitarist Nigel Brewer hosted a cool local cable TV show called Rock Study. On his show he featured many Washington D.C. area guitarists and on this one featured me, Glen Kuykendall AND amp guru (the now late) Ken Fischer of Trainwreck Circuits in Colonia, NJ. Here I played an original 1959 Gibson Les Paul but NOT through the same Trainwreck Express amp seen in my other videos. Instead I played the LP though a 1991 Trainwreck Liverpool into a single 1x12. (FYI Brad Paisleys recently acquired Trainwreck amplifier is also a Liverpool) I was pretty nervous here, it being my first time interviewed on TV. In 1992 Nigel had also interviewed Ken Fischer in Kens basement amp workshop and some of that footage was also on this same show. Nigel was one of my first guitar students, that I had taught back in the early 80s. Quirky, witty, and informative Nigels Rock Study show was WAY ahead of its time!

Musicians on backing tracks:

  • Awesome tone !!! ...and playing, of course. it comes through even with the muffled audio. I can really hear the sound of a cranked, attenuated, great tube amp. The guitar sounds incredible too, is that the '59 burst I've seen in your other vids?

  • Yes same Les Paul as in my other videos! When this TV show was filmed I had owned the LP about 14 years.

  • THey kept spelling your name wrong, think they would of fixed that in editing. why is that kid playing with the feakin mic,, sound's like your in a wind storm.

  • The show was done by college students after hours for free, all volunteer work.

Lucky the old video tapes were saved at all.

  • this vid is mulletastic

  • HA!
