Why and how there are as young as 12-year-old sex slaves in Colorado?

Today, in 2007, there are more slaves in the world than 200 years ago. Modern slavery is known as human trafficking and it is the fastest growing global crime.

Produced by three University of Colorado students (Spring 2007), "Rocky Mountain Slavery: The Story of Human Trafficking in Colorado" gives the picture of sex trade in the Centennial State.

An undercover investigator, an elected official and other community members share information about this heinous crime that most Coloradoans are not aware of. An ordinary citizen in downtown Denver thinks human trafficking means "lots of people walking on the street." Students find out that there are, indeed, "lost of people" in trafficking, but they are not walking on the street at all. They are isolated, beaten, raped and dehumanized in the most unimaginable ways

Produced by Ashley Garrod, Nico Nagel and Simon Maghakyan. Narrated by Simon Maghakyan. Photographs from official U.S. websites, www.hetq.am or by Simon Maghakyan. Music by Enigma. Released May 10, 2007. For more information visit http://myspace.com/rockymountainslavery

  • The Governments do nothing so they must be involved.People in power are protecting these animals.

  • This won't end until the demand for it ends. Women have always spoken out against such things, but until the MEN, the real men, the good men of our society put other men in check for this kind of behavior, it won't stop. These dirtbags count on the fact that men don't like to "butt in" to another mans business. But that's what it will take. When you see a guy propositioning a young girl or see domestic violence, don't turn a blind eye. Step up- SAY something. Roaches scurry from the light.

  • What a BS story. How about using victims intrviews, actual data, and less opinion(Yes we know that enslaving people is wrong.Move on to facts). If this "story" was for grade I would give it a solid F....Given that you go to CU, you were probably given a gold star, gluten free orange slices, a copy of Ward Churchills book and a letter stating the reason for your 15% tuition hike.

  • @Mythofsextrafficking ARE YOU FUCKING RETARDED? THIS HAPPENS ALL THE FUCKING TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The sex trafficking, sex slavery concept is based on emotion, morals, and monetary funding rather than facts, evidence and proof. very few kidnapped, forced against their will, physically abused, raped sex slave prostitutes for profit have been found throughout the world. research concludes that women who enter into this type of work do so of their own free will. anti-prostitution groups use made up child sex trafficking statistics which they have no evidence of. - bebopper76 on the web

  • Where are all the underage children kidnapped and forced against their will by a pimp to have sex with the genreal public for money? How come we don’t see any of the forced victims themselves complaining about it? Why do we only hear from the anti-prostitution groups that received money and grants from the government, and not the millions of victims themselves? Instead, no forced vitictims are found. search for: "bebopper76" on the web

  • There are many anti-prostitution groups who simply do not like the idea of consensual adult prostitution and have distorted the facts in order to push their agenda and receive funding and money into their organizations in the form of donations, grants and to change the laws about prostitution. These anti-prostitution groups use made up child sex trafficking statistics which they have no proof or evidence of in order to gain public acceptance for their cause.

  • Sex trafficking is illegal and the pentities are very severe. It is very difficult to force someone to be a sex slave, they would have to have 24 hour guards posted and be watched 365 days a year, 24 hours per day. Have the threat of violence if they refused, and have no one notice and complain to the authorities or police. This is extremely difficult to do, which makes this activity rare.
