The last remnant of the Rush Street college aged party scene still exists a block north of this video--at Rush and Division. Mothers, a hold out from the eighties, is still there and it's still a great place to drink if simple liver liquefaction is your goal!! God knows I killed more than my fair share of brain cells in that place. But that was two decades and a lifetime ago, LOL.

But the Rush scene is a little more upsscale now. There are nicer restaurants and bars at this corner of Rush and Cedar. In the middle of the three way intersection is a very tiny city park--about 100 feet long--with a coffee bar and outdoor seating. This is the hottest, sexiest place for people watching in the City of Chicago. The ladies who walk by are simply stunning and beautiful! If you keep a very close eye on the goings on you will notice some very interesting ummm...well, check it out yourself, you'll see what I mean.

For the ladies, this is the place for the sexy black dresses and heels and all those great outfits. But honestly, there's lots of casual dining and outdoor seating in the summer and khaki shorts and polo tops abound. Men dress from business attire to Khaki shorts also. Many of these places are kid friendly and there are some regular old fast food chains nearby--Corner Bakery, Subway, etc... And there is always the coffee shop in the middle of the street: milk shakes, ice cream cones, espresso, old guys smoking Cuban cigars, and Poledancefan chilling out on his bike around midnight most days in the summer!

  • At leasts in my day going to Mother's & other hot-spots on Rush street. We use to have so much fun even in the 80s. The biggest mistake Chicago ever made was those stupid smoking bans I left Chicago because of that & will never return!

  • @Godzie1 I agree..it killed Rush street forever...

  • viagra triangle. thats where all the old ppl are who think they are sill in college! hahaha

  • @hep2jive lol...too funny. But you are probably right about that one!

  • First time to see this one. Kinda neat to see what life in the big city would be like. I have to drive 15 miles to get to the nearest restraunt

  • This center of the intersection is one of my favorite places to stop on the way home from my bike rides every summer night. There's an outdoor coffee shop in the meridian strip and benches and tables. It's great for people watching. It was really drunk and crazy in the eighties, but now it's mostly upscale and expensive places. Only one or two of the seedy bars are left, just a block north of this video--on division street.

  • @Poledancefan One solution (but IDK if every smoker will go along w/it?) Is to stop obeying these bans that destroyed our businesses & social lives. Everyone go where you want & light up. Yes there will be a few fines but the courts & the police can't spend their days & nights just against smokers. It will get to the point that the judges will throw their hands up & surrender. (The courts are backed up enough) The anti's pushed us we must push back! (Even harder)

  • Yes, I've noticed a huge drop off in business in the bar scene everywhere around just Chicago and the Suburbs--not just around Rush Street. Music clubs are really hurting bad--in the one I go to in the Western Suburbs, crowds are way, way down. I think a lot of smokers used to go to the bars partly to smoke because they couldn't do it at home. Now those customers are simply staying home. I wonder if a compromise permitting smoking in bars 10PM to 2AM would have worked?

  • Went there on the Friday of Memorial Day Weekend , there wasn't shit.

Ever since the whole smoking ban, even happening places like Hunt Club now suck ass.
