I beg to differ Mr. Side Short. The Chamorros have more than paid for the ability to call ourselves U.S. citizens. If you have a problem with that, take it to Congress. By the way, we aren't the ones pushing ourselves on the military men for U.S. citizenship. It is a shame that you feel this way. If you gave a chance to Guam while you were there, you would know that Guam Is Good.

The Side Short should be aware that there are many Chamorros that are in the military. He might be depending on one of us to get his back during times of war. Maybe he doesn't realize that there are many Army Rangers who are or were Chamorros. In my family, there are some high ranking officers like a Colonel and a Major who were or is in the active U.S. military.

Furthermore, the US agreed to pay Guam $60 billion to cover costs for these FSM citizens. This is where foodstamps, welfare, and healthcare comes in. If we send these people back to where they came from, the problem will shrink. A lot of them use Guam as a stepping stone for U.S. citizenship and to make their way to the mainland.

Even if I wasn't a Chamorro, I fail to see how this is funny. In response to all the comments, especially to The Short Side if he reads this after a year is that he is right that foodstamps and welfare runs rampant on Guam, however, he doesn't realize that majority of people who have these benefits are not locals-they are immigrants like the Chuukese and Filipinos. The US made a deal with Guam and the FSM to allow these people to come to Guam to work and attend school.

Very well said Mr. Paulino....just because of your social status and that you have your own TV show, doesn't give you the right to downplay or be ignorant to the fact that people from our island have fought in wars as an American!! Why did it have to be Guam, why couldn't it be the USA or some other place (oh wait, cause he is from America)

Conan, your celebrity status should not give you the right to make fun out of people this way. Hundred of thousands of innocent human beings died as a result of nuclear bombs dropped during WWII. Men and women including children perished in a matter of seconds and those unfortunate ones lived to experience the worst sufferings that that any human being can endure. Conan, please choose your jokes wisely and considerately. Thank you.
