Celestion V30 In an open versus Closed back Cabinet

Celestion Vintage 30 in a fully loaded 2x12. First half is back on, second half is back off.

Open back one definitely better. What do you think about putting 1 greenback and 1 v30 in a Crate v18? I have the same amp and want to swap speakers but am not sure which one I should choose? I was thinking mixing them. Do you have any suggestions how i might sound like?

@warfanax I think the greenbacks and V30's are too similar voiced to make a big difference if mixed.

I'd maybe think about two speakersa that compliment each other like a V30 and a G12 H30 or a G12K-100.

I'm almost thinking a Greenback would be a nice choice in the V18. Save a few bucks consider the Eminence GB12.

I have a Peavy Vk 2X12 V30 open back and I wish I had a closed back!!trust me...the bass on open back is gone

I got a plexi clone type amp in a vertical 2x12 combo with a greenback and g12h30 and it is fuckin sex when that amp is cranked up
