forgiveness is not for them its for you. Damn good words to keep and follow. Never let anyone dictate your life, your emotions, your passion forgive them and continue your journey with or without them it feels alot better when you forgive people the faster u get over them

He's funny as hell, has good advice and is a cool person but I'm sick of the religous stuff in which his comedy seems to make fun of and reinforce at the same time.

Oprah did a good show on this on 10/15/2009. One thing Oprah talks about is how people are groomed before the abuse starts and it's hard when it is a parent or close relative. Many abusers practice spiritual and the other abuses, in tandem they abuse your trust. Thank to Tyler, Mackenzie and the other for speaking out.

perry has just come out about his childhood physical and sexual abuse. so has mackenzie phillips, as well as many others. here's my question...why mackenzie is getting so much hate for her coming out about it, and yet, perry isn't. same with polanski, everyone is so willing to forgive him...to me, it's all the same...child abuse.. i'd be interested in how others' see it....thx.

I see what your saying. I think people who hate on Phillips is because she's telling people that her famous musician dad molested her, plus the fact it continued into adulthood and was "consensual". Another reason is that she writes a book that has it in there, which people accuse her of making a profit off of it and looking for pity. That's why there are people who hate on her. I don't agree any of it, though.

jcac1023-she has since retracted the word consensual, after some education on the subject. mackenzie did what a lot of abuse victims do, they take on way too much responsibility for what happened. regardless of age, your father is the power figure in the relationship and he crossed those lines. whether or not mackenzie makes any bucks off this is not the point, she's telling her truth, she is speaking for silent millions of victims. thank you for your comment and for your open mind...
