Jeff Buckley's interpretation of Dido's Lament is commented by Philip Sheppard. The interpretation took place in the Meltdown Festival in 1995. This audio is a fragment from the BBC Soul Music program on Dido's Lament.

  • Thanks a lot Mr. Sheppard. for this gift. People who really feel passion for Jeff and the classical music are very, very, very lucky. You´ve joined one of the materpiece of the classical music with one of the best, (for me the best) Pop-Rock musicians. I´d like to download this piece. If it´s possible and If you know where can I get it I´d appreciate it. Thanks a lot again.

  • @uretanairobi I found this audio while searching the web. There was no "download" link so I had to stream the file and record it at the same time. I guess you would have to do the same or simply come here and click play whenever you want to hear it ;)

  • I appreciate this, but do you really have to talk over his voice?

  • I won't pass comment on this commentary, only express gratitude for it's existence.

My main observation I wish to impart is that the thing 'which should not be named' unless you dare to trigger a response has yet to register any clicks.

  • Speechless, thank you.

  • hi man thank you so much for this upload, can you please also simply upload Jeff's singing without your commentary? Thank you for this, what an incredible singer...

  • This hits me like an arrow through the heart - we've truly lost an angel of a voice.

  • @daz3406 in the ideal world we wouldn't be commenting on Jeff's art, scribbling with our dirty paws, but we do, don't we? lol

Mr Sheppard is a Professor at the Royal Academy of Music and I feel Jeff would be appreciative of what he has to say.

  • @andpyramids Hello. Well, maybe I explained in a wrong way. I only want to download the music. No the Phillip comments. I know about another links with only the music. I was ony applying for help to get it. Thanks, and I´ll think about it.

  • @angelkater0se Thanks a lot for your information Angel. I´ll do it as you tell me because I don´t find another way to do it. I really appreciate the time you took to answer me. The best!

  • @daz3406 You're missing the point. There are plenty of versions online without the commentary that you are free to listen to. This one happens to feature the wonderful insight of a person lucky enough to get to actually work with Jeff, on this very recording no less, and that in itself is a pretty nice treat. So maybe think about that, yeah?
