Terragen 2 sucks, but the time the have the slow rendering problems solved we're probably already using E-on Vue version 9 with ten times better results.

Terragen 2 does not suck. The learning curve is a little steep, especially for users of Terragen 0.9. The render times are slow because no other renderer is so realistic, and the more you have used TG2, the better you get and eventually you'll be able to fool people into thinking that what you have made is real.

i think jj abrams got an early copy of terragen 25 for star trek lol. because i dont fucking know how that movie was created...

It is an entire planet. Watch the "post-processed?" video by nico3333fr the main planet and all secondary planets are complete entities.
