This video shows the first group of hatchlings for this breeding season.
Sea Life Park's Reef Life Department has managed a Hawaiian Green Sea Turtle breeding program since the 1970's. We have a breeding colony of adult green turtles at the park that have the potential to produce hundreds of hatchlings per breeding season. We release these turtles back into the wild to help increase our populations. Hawaii's turtles have since improved from "endangered" status in the 70's to it's current "threatened" status.
Please protect our "honu" and respect them if you see them in the wild. Protect them from marine debris, destruction of nests, and harassment. We can all help our honu have a brighter future.
If you'd like to be a part of our programs, please volunteer with the Reef Life Department at Sea Life Park, Hawaii.
