My Best Friend - A Nick Jonas Love Story - Chapter 47

This chapter is kinda funny, I think. I love how Kevin and Joe always ambush Nick when he least expect it :D

Chapter 47: Kevin And Joe Drop Their Jaws

I stepped into my house that afternoon after I had dropped Alex off, with a smile on my face. I had a date with Alex, well it wasn't exactly an official date, but so what. It was a date. I walked into the kitchen while happily whistling.
"Someone's happy today," a voice said, and I dropped the Diet Coke I had just opened on the floor, so it spilt everywhere.
"JOE!" I hissed, as I looked down at the brown liquid on the floor, and all over my shoes and jeans. I looked at him angrily but was just trying very hard not to laugh.
"So what are you happy about?"
"I asked Alex to the formal," I simply answered, and started cleaning up the floor. Joe didn't say anything, and that scared me so I looked up, and his jaw was basically touching the floor. I smiled a little.
"Kevin, I think it's time we have the talk with our younger brother!" Joe yelled to Kevin who was in the living room.
"Don't you think Frankie is just a teeny tiny bit too young for that?"
"I didn't mean him," Joe said as Kevin appeared next to him. "I meant Nick."
"You know we took this talk with him three years ago," Kevin contradicted once again.
"I think we need to refresh his memory with a more hard tone. He asked Alex to the formal." Kevin eyeballs almost rolled out of his head, they were so wide I was afraid they'd plop out at any minute.
"Are you serious?" He asked looking from me to Joe, to me again.
"Yeah," I said and stood up.
"So are you like going to ask her to be your girlfriend?" Kevin wondered out loud.
"No," I said, and got sad just of the thought.
"Why not!?"
"She's leaving for France tomorrow, remember. She's going back to Jacque. She's not going to be here for the competition, for the show in Trenton, for Christmas, for New Years Eve. She's going to be gone. I'm going to lose her, so I don't want to end up even more heartbroken when she tells me she doesn't feel the same way."
"Dude, if you don't tell her, you're going to regret it for the rest of your life," Kevin so wisely pointed out.
"Yeah, Nick, tell her, or I will."
"NO! I'll tell her, I promise."
"Seriously?" They asked in unison.
"Yeah. Now I need to get ready, I'm picking her up at six." I said and walked upstairs.

At six I was standing in front of Alex' front door, I took a deep breath and pressed the doorbell. I heard Alex run around inside, like she was in time need. When the doorknob turned and the door was opened, my heart stopped.
"Whoa," was all I could get out. She was wearing a champagne colored strapless dress, and black heels, her black hair was wavy, and her makeup was simple. She was dead gorgeous.
"Hopefully that's a good thing," she said with a smile, and brought me out of my trance.
"You look amazing, Alex," I said, and offered her my arm. She blushed, and linked her arm with mine. We got into the car, and drove towards the school. We entered the gym which was beautifully decorated with fake leaves in red, and yellow colors. It looked like they had brought the fall inside, but that was the whole point in the Fall Formal.
Percy and MacKenzie came running towards us, they had been behaving strange all week as if something was going on between them.
"Hey guys," Alex said, and gave each of them a hug.
"You guys look so cute together," Kenz exclaimed, and I even though it was hard to see in the dimmed light, I could swear I saw Alex blush into a deep shade of pink. My heart was pounding just by being this close to her.
"Thanks, but now I'm gonna steal her away for a dance," I said, and offered Alex my hand. She looked down with a shy smile and took my hand. I felt an electric shock run through my veins. I loved her so much.
