Why Tailgates and Clay Don't Mix

Tailgate trucks are great for wet silty material, but not so great for wet clay. Here a large chunk has fallen the length of the box and hit the tailgate while the truck was dumping (all the dirt "rides" the box until it's almost all the way up, then falls from the top of the box). The result was snapping off one chain support and bending the other. All the weight of the dirt lifted the front of the truck and held it in place so the driver couldn't pull forward.

@vantagetes do like we do in Sweden!! We put on hydraulic tailgates here and these kind of problems goes away!!

that happens they say ur not a dumptruck driver till u turned over a cab of one . i have done it got loaded all to the back all got stuck but i put it over proper on its side .. dumper was going 3 hours later

@vantagetes i personally like the komatsu articulated truck but then again the only volvos i have ever run were quit old and beaten up was to new to use the good ones

Why they don't mix? That's what the  articulated and rotational pivot joint is for..
