The Land Rover G4 Challenge is a global adventure, with 4x4 driving at the heart of a dynamic competition that takes in other sports such as mountain biking, kayaking, climbing, orienteering and abseiling. The result is an epic event that is as much a test of initiative, strategic thinking and team spirit as physical fitness, sporting skills and driving ability. The Challenge is designed to test every aspect of the competitor's character, demanding the flexibility to work as bi-national team players combining with different team mates during each of the four week-long Challenge stages.

  • The camel trophy was better!!!

How can land rover promote it's cars off road abilities if this bullshit is just kayaking, biking and other things that don't have a shit to do with off road driving.

  • land rover need to try and keep the eco hippies satisfied that they are being sensitive to the environment.thats why g4 is less about off road driving and more about 'lifestyle'. also, these new computerised, multiplexed, and very complicated vehicles probably wouldn't stand up to camel style activities!! i still want a new range rover though!!

  • Lame...

  • its because there scared to get there Chelsea tractors dirty gang of puffs bring back the camel trophy

  • What is this crap? Drive a cool car to where you can ride a pony and then Kayak and Ride your bike? I would bet Ford had their hands in this G4 stuff, it seems American kind of stuff. (I am an American.) The camel race was far, far better! At least with the camel everyone helped each other and it was a unified team effort.

I am proud to own my Camel Truck, and would have loved to have had a chance to enter a Camel Race, this G4 thing seems pretty lame! This is really boring now!

  • the g4 is great i even have one so dont dis!!!!

  • G4 IS NOTHING COMPARE TO CAMEL TROPHY

  • As a marketing stunt, if you want to make a statement like: "use your car to get to the adventure",ok, but why buy a Land Rover to drive through those roads, and those puddles, I don't need one. I will buy a Fiat 500.

Land Rover, start building real off-road vehicles, sell it to real off-roaders, bring back the camel trophy, and paint the cars yellow.

I have a 4x4 and I use it. I would love to buy a Discovery, if you can build one that serves me.

And WHATS with Kayaking? Kayaking sucks.

  • true, however land rover only have factories in England, and mine are all definately uk built.i.e dreadful, but brilliant!

  • LAND ROVER IS NOW INDIAN. LOL

  • if only i had the opportunity to drive in LA traffic.i live in sunny(!) England and drive my landrover everyday. that is my choice, yes i could buy a hybrid(and get laughed at a lot!!) but this is still a nearly free country, and i,ve chosen to drive an English car. Unfortunately, the choice of English built vehicles is getting smaller by the day as our hopeless government is happy to waste billions on the banks, but not UK manufacturing!

  • You are parcialy right about the lifestyle marketing and also about the computerised cars, the good and old Defenders did not show problems at all but the Discorery 3 had problems with the electronic suspension systems.

    :)

But the eco thing is: why would you have a such a big car if you not going to carry bikes or drive off road. I sure hope you get an hybrid to drive in L.A trafic and use your Land Rover only on weekends.
