This project was a school project,(i was in 10th grade... was 15 years old) and it has three parts to it. FIRST, there's the driving part to it, where one can drive it around through remote control (500 yard range). The R/C also has a LCD screen i attatched to it, with a camera on the actual robot. SECOND, there's the turret part of it, where it fires airsoft bbs. (the plastic kind... 6mm) THIRD, there's the claymore part of it, where it is MOTION SENSITIVE, so anyone who walks infront of it (when activated) will be shot at with a cloud of whatever you load into it. In the night-scene of the video, i just activated the claymore by a switch i made, just so i wouldn't have to shoot myself so many times.

  • Dude!

That is the most metal thing I have seen in quite some time, do you still have it?

  • yeah, i still have it, but some of it's parts have been taken out to make other things...

  • Very nice. What kind of motor did you use to move your vehicle, and what size servos did you use for the turret. Im making something similar, and any ideas would be helpful!

  • sorry for the late response...

I used an electric scooter motor, one that you would ride on. i didnt actually use a servo to move the turret because no servo was strong enough. I used an old electric screw-driver- mechanism to turn it. it has lots of RPM and more than enough torque...

  • how dose the claymore part work beause i am building one but cant seem to keep the bbs to stay in so it has to lay flat i want to be able to lay on a angle so the bbs hit the players thax

  • ok.. sorry for the late response, but hope it helps you. To hold the bbs/ stuff in, i did two things. First, the lid of the claymore has to be very close to the actual rat traps, applying lots of pressure, or theres no way the bbs/ crap wont fall out. Second, I put a lot excess cloth in the bottom part of the claymore's cloth, so before i close it, i just put the bbs/ crap in and fold it up. (like a "U").

i might make an instructables for the claymore part... (instructables.com)

  • Also... just remembered another thing... in my vid, after you see me closing the claymore, there's a small hole in the middle of the 'lid.' From that hole, all one has to do is using a bb loader, just drop them through that hole. (the hole is BARELLLLLLLY visible in the video)using the hole to load, i can have the claymore vertical while loading it.
