sheffield boardwalk w/ damo pt2.wmv

with somewhat less than 24 hours notice..... I received a cryptic text from steve late on the thursday night, while well in my cups, so to speak. here&now aren't playing (a big disappointment, as we'd intended to go to the boardwalk anyway to see them); damo wants us to play instead. hungover the next morning, & halfway to euston to go to stockport & retrieve our live-rig, I find out that gary will be working until 6pm at least. our soundcheck in sheffield is at 6pm. this isn't going well..... I change course & take the fretless rickenbacker to sheffield instead.
fast forward to 6pm, & we've spent an hour persuading steve's brother, C&W star jonny williams, to stand in for gary. actually, sit, because his dusty telecaster has no strap. "who is this damo bloke anyway?" he asks, genuinely weirded out by the whole thing. then, backstage at the boardwalk, we meet martin archer for the first time, & a whole new chapter gets started.
