I directed this music video for Paul Simon's new single entitled "Getting Ready For Christmas Day"

All the letters are animated by hand and all the projections are really projected onto the marquee. The time lapses (and everything else!) were shot by my DP, Colin Rich.

so, Is this the "official" video or is the animated one? Love the song, which, to me, feels like an evolution of Paul's last album, "Surprise."

I like this video better--it feels more Simon like.

I'm a fan of both Pauls but the song is weak for a Simon tune and the video is surprisingly repetitive (and therefore boring) for Cummings. I guess it's a good thing that I'm shocked on both counts.

You know, it's only because you set the bar so F'n high since the first vids (and have held it fairly consistently there) that I HAD to give you an honest, no bullshit, opinion on this one.
