Toon Makers (aka "Saban") Sailor Moon (in better quality)

Here's a better-quality version of the infamous Americanized version of Sailor Moon that was never actually released to the general public. This version was filmed using a tripod, so it's not as shaky. Eventually I might apply a perspective correction.

We still wonder why Mercury is in a wheelchair.

Every time I watch this, it makes me thankful for the DiC dub >.> That's how bad this is.

@MusicFeedsYourSoul I like the original Sailor Moon much more, but I still am curious as to how this would have turned out. The music video tells us almost nothing about plot, character development, the world they live in, etc. Yes, it's really cheesy, but that was pretty standard stuff for the early 90's in the US. So yeah, be thankful for the DiC dub, but I'd still like to see the pilot of this out of curiosity. It's an odd little part of Sailor Moon history.

The one on the wheelchair is Jupiter. Mercury is the one with the short hair 1:21 (proof: she uses sabao spray)

@JrDolce1 I'm pretty sure that's not sabao spray, but rather one of Jupiter's thunder/lightning attacks. In any case, the girl in the wheelchair has a blue uniform; and in an interview the guy behind the pilot actually said it wasn't Jupiter who was in the wheelchair.

@JrDolce1 Double checked the video just to be sure... that's definitely Mercury in the wheelchair; she wears blue and the short-haired girl you mentioned wears green in every scene, like in this one: 1:17

I just realized something. The scout in the wheelchair (which I think is Mercury), she reminds me of Oracle from Batman. Did Toon Makers get the idea from that? If so, that's a rip off. I'm sorry

Oh wow, the girl in the wheelchair and the wind...spacesurfing was too much. I couldn't stop laughing, but I'm actually very curious to see the pilot.
