This is a review of the Privateer Press paint line (P3 paint)

Remember this is just my opinion. I know that a lot of people really like a particular brand of paints, but this is just my views. Hopefully this will be useful for beginners or people looking in to other paint lines, or who just want to try something new.

  • I'm just about to get some P3 paint as i had a bad experiance with Vallejo game colour paints, i found that a lot of them dried to a gloss finish with or without flow aid. i have also tried reaper paints and that is very good to.What i will say about Vallejo paints their Air brush line is very good as are their Model air Mattalics. But if you want good mattalics then go for Vallejo Liquid gold its alcohol based but its the best metallic on the market in my opinion.

thnx 4 your Review helped a lot

  • A very fair and open review. I think your opinions are well founded. You did a good job of covering all the bases of what mini painters should be considering when purchasing paints. In the future, one thing you might want to do is compare several competing products (not to bash on one line for example, but a side by side listing pros and cons might be helpful to some people), but that's just an open suggestion. Overall a very good review.

  • The metallics suck. I like very refined metallic pieces or pigment, shavings, whatver. But I love P3. Most people use Vallejo and GW and its sad not as many people use P3. its an awesome paintline! I wish they came in dropper bottles as I am a paint mixer and make my own colors. But at least their design doesnt dry up like GW does. I give these paints 9/10.!

  • You say basically alot :p what I like about these is you can tell mcvey had a helpin in the line as they're the old cote d'arms pots good line of paint tho :)

  • @zhuala You can buy p3 directly from the manufacturer

  • The only problem I've had is that the color range is quite small because they're made for Privateer models. I just mix colors to get what I need. P3 is awesome! I'm done with GW. I'm going to try Reaper and Vallejo, but P3 will always have a place in my collection. Great bid by the way!!

  • i completely agree with you about the paints. If not for the scarcity of the product i've change my whole line to p3.

  • Very good review, keep up the good work friend.
