Stinging Nettles - Harvesting and Preparing for Eating. Filmed in Central/Eastern Washington by Shoutsoftly and Shoutquietly. Harvesting in late March and early April will net you the best plants for eating. Nettles require some processing to keep them from stinging you as you eat them. If your hands or arms are stung during harvesting, I find alcohol based hand sanitizer works for me - just use it and let the sanitizer dry naturally on your skin. ENJOY !!!

  • They really are delicious - both fire cooked and by slight boiling. Be sure you have the correct plant as there are several that are called "nettles."

  • Cool nettle video ...Do you build a tolerance to the stings? Or do they not sting when cooked? Thanks!
