YouTube pundit EvenEvenOdd pontificates on YouTube etiquette in so far as it pertains to friend-invites. He puts forward the following principle: Never send a friend-invite, unless the recipient is already a subscriber of yours.

  • @EvenEvenOdd.... I believe that one who subscribes should become a friend if they enjoy the users blog.... I am just learning the ropes to the whole youtube rules and code of conduct and will try to do the same from now on!!! did someone stiff you or something?

  • @scott So you're take on the matter is this: first subscribe, then wait and watch a few vlogs. If you don't like what you see, unsubscribe. If you like what you see, send a friend invite. Correct?

  • [On behalf of Genkenaar, who encountered some technical contretemps trying to post the following comment:]

I understand what you're talking about.

I always tend to keep my friendlists (on every single one of my profile sites) clean and I only add people that I actually know in real life or that I actually communicate with through the internet.

I never understood this whole mass-random-friends-that-I-don't-even-know-who-they-are-and-who-I-never-speak-to thing.

  • I dunno. I've had some people who like my channel add me as a friend first.... and then subscribe to me later.

    I think Brad did that.

The only people who's friend requests I refuse are those people that have 0 videos, 4000 favourites and 8000 friends already. Those people are obviously just trolling!

  • @Snoppster I know it's quite common for people to send friend-invites before even subscribing to the potential friend. That's why i've made this video: to reform the YouTube nation of its wayward manners...

  • LOL okay you can speak english... no offense but I believe that is the first video that I've actually heard you speak sentances in lol LOVE YA man!!

  • @scott Why, thank you! Love ya back, hombre.

  • Thank you for clarifying this issue for me... I was wondering about this, as I got an invite the other day, (my 1st) and I'm not sure why. I only have 2 (very short) videos of my grandchildren, (taken on, and uploaded from my phone) and I have not subscribed to, or watched this persons videos, or communicated with them in comments...kind of strange.

  • @EvenEvenOdd... I believe you should do both!!!! if you like their stuff

  • lol, if I had to show my bloopers, it would be 10% video and 90% bloopers, I mean seriously, I had to redo things in both my video's over a million times.

  • LOL did I do that? lol sorry snoppster... I'm new at youtube! i meant no ill manner by it!!!! btw its been forever since you posted a blog!

  • Thanks EvenEvenOdd and my apology for the trouble!
