The League of the South hosts Robert E. Lee's 200th birthday, January 20th, 2007, at a local cracker bbq restaurant. This event has been held since January of 2000, when it started with 10 guys, a flag, and a park pavillion.

80 Floridians attended this birthday and we hope for more next year.

Let's celebrate OUR holidays, not MLK day or Malcolm X.

  • Wach out! A wannabe 14 year old gangsta' is on the warpath, I'll tell you what, I will watch you try to take that leak so get your mama to drive your wannabe ass to his grave and try it. Then I'll watch some young southern girl bitchslap your ass back to New York.

  • You better look at the black people as to the ones who are racists... and don't push that jesse jackson shit over here... Thomas jefferson supported state rights over a big government... so take your big government/business elsewhere... also did you know Robert E. Lee didn't or believe in slavery.

  • ONLY PROBLEM I HAVE IS THAT FLORIDA WAS NEUTRAL DURING THE CIVIL WAR

  • anyone who has anything bad to say about Lee does not know our history or what kind of man Lee was.racism is crap but Lee was not.

  • Celebrating a two-faced liar like Lee is hilarious.

  • Lincoln said that he wanted to remove as many blacks as possible once the war was over. He believed that colored people shouldnt and couldnt coexsist with the white people.

  • lol. these are the most ignorant people.

  • ...Thank god the black people didn't take his day away on MLK day.

  • I like the music of yesteryear ++good music.

Weird message to my ears today though.

  • The North is the one of the two, that reneged on the pact of the Union. They were hellbent on the centralization of the government. The two economies were structured differently. If the true cause was slavery, the Emancipation Proclamation would have come immediately at the inception of the war. Like Lincoln said in his letter to the editor of the New York Tribune: "My paramount object in this struggle is to save the Union, and is not either to save or to destroy slavery."
