the winner busa at this race is the new model (red-black) with time 9.41...

the fastest bikes on the planet are Busa's period! Stock? no, but when modified there is not another bike that even comes close when you compare to other race bikes. not to mention they are WAY more comfortable to ride.
do a search on utube for turbo busas and see how many actually get beat on average. easy to work on to. and lets face it, how many people who own bikes strictly drag race? not many! so riding comfort has to be a concern for 99% of the bike riders.
liter bikes handle better

I like the old one's rear and guages. Hope new busas will keep their aerodynamics and they will not become a victim of this new naked fasion.

EVERY comment on here is wrong, the hayabusa is comfortable, and most riders will see low 10's, great rider will see 9's. 99-07 are practically the same, just changes to make more reliable, cam chain redesign, tensioner redesign and starter clutch too, power output is the same for 99-07, not 155 for 99-03 or whatever dude said below. It's 177 crank claimed hp on 99-07 and 194 for 08+. 99-07 is 1298cc and 08 up has a 2mm longer stroke, 1.5 point higher compression and is 1340cc. They have a

@SBrinks no they are not good for long sustained trips, but cruising prolly
-
to be fair both are insanely quick
-
@819sebas hum.... the other one neither.... hm.... do these bike have footpegs?
-
LOL!!! the guy on the orange bike never put his feet on the pegs .... xD
-
@SBrinks its the same thing as any bike. this one just hauls ass. if u dont like speed dont get a busa. there good for riding if ur gonna go fast. if not get another gsxr or a ninja or ducati.

The throttle retardation is for the jap market I believe, Something about legal maximum speeds I think, you may need to correct me on that one. In the US and UK theres no issue with restroing the correct timing to gain full power/speed. I dont see why anyone wouldnt, especially if your the kind of guy who will be taking it to drag strips.
As as side note the rear end of the new busa looks like hell, The new one is a 1400 where the old one is 1300 and the old one seemed to have a poor start.
Nice Bikes!
