American horror films are too graphics enhanced and *scientific* lol

Asian horror films got that cultural mystique element and are low budget, that's all it takes to make a good "scared to take a piss at night" film. hahaha

When I first watched the movie, I was expecting another horror movie from Sono-san... I was very, very wrong, but in the best way possible.

What I got was one of the most intriguing introspective narratives I've ever watched. Somehow, I hadn't even released it was connected to Sono's "Suicide Circle" film (which I had seen prior), and I was even more intrigued when I realized this was both a prequel, sequel, and side story, all packed into one.

    I absolutely loved this movie.

I seriously don't understand this movie and how it relates to the suicides or the group from suicide in :(

Oh, I'm gonna watch both. Heard too many good things about them. I just havent done it yet because I'm not sure which was the sequel to which. Thanks.

Definitely watch "Suicide Club" first, although the style differs from this. Even if you don't like it, still watch "Noriko's Dinner Table". Watching SC first will help you understand a big part of this film.

I think that the mass suicides in Suicide Club were used as a form of extreme social satire. Many youth follows trends, sometimes no matter what they are. I think a lot is still open to interpretation though.
