LBJ was a great domestic President, but Vietnam was his undoing. Despite the means he used to get into politics (stealing his first Senate race) he had the potential to be a great President. But he mad a bad call on Vietnam from day one and that one decision was like quick sand for the rest of his Presidency.

@MrRobertJameson LOL...maybe. However, if you're a Kennedy fan you need to remember Johnson is what won him that election; well, that and Joe Kennedy. Kennedy never could have gotten the South without Johnson.

I admire LBJ for the fact he was willing to do ANYTHING to get ahead. No matter what your opinions are, it's impressive that a poor farm boy made his way to the Presidency and was the most powerful man in Washington even before then. It's inspiring.
