Now that's a sword fight, no fancy dance moves, hit, parry and swing madly.

"I must get away from here Jim, before they have the blind-spot on me."
"The blind what?
"Spot, Jim. It's a summons."
"The lubbers'll be going around and now to get their wind of me."
"What lubbers are those Captain?"
"Ah it's Flint's men as like as not, Blind Dog, Black Pew."
"Now you look here Jim, if they should slip me the blind-spot, you get on a horse and you go and fetch that infernal swab of a doctor..you tell him I'm the only one that has it."
"Has what?"
"The spot Jim!"

Loved this when I saw it on it's original airing and it remains one of my very favourite films to this day. Oliver Reed's Billy Bones, Lee's Pew and Heston's Silver are perfect realisations of Stevenson's characters and the rest of the cast to a man (and woman) is stellar as well. Add to that a brilliant soundtrack by the Chieftains and this hits the nail square on the head every step of the way - it is by far the best film adaptation of RLS's novel that I have seen.

@agentm83 amen amen and AMEN
I like how authentic this version seems. None of this overly colourful, unrealistic Disney-type stuff!

There never has been and never will be a version of "Treasure Island" as good as this one. The cast is impeccable, and the dialogue is wonderful and so is the atmosphere.
