I love JMM, but he just does not sound the same. Did the anxiety and sleep disorder impact his voice? He just does not sound like he can carry a tune anymore. What a shame...we need more traditional artists in country like JMM.

@mythid12 At least he was willing to say he had a problem and sought help. He didn't say he didn't need help. I think he still sounds wonderful.

On May 9, 2008, Montgomery announced he was in rehab for an undisclosed substance abuse problem. Although not released at the time he sought rehab at a drug treatment facility in Hazard, KY. The addiction was cited to severe anxiety attacks and a sleep disorder. He hasn't sung as well since for what ever reason.

I've seen John Michael a few times and he was great (this was 12 or 14 years ago) and I understand that live can sound different, but John Michael doesn't seem like he can sing at all anymore. Seems to be content letting the audience sing it for him. Has he had voice problems or something?

This is great, but I also like Jethro Tull's "Life's a Long Song" old 1970's number a little better. Ian has a way with words. Both are very poignant songs.

i love this song!!

I heard this on the radio recently. I was surprised that, even after a long time of not hearing, I still remembered every word. Fantastic song that applies to everyone, no matter who you are. Life is always a dance.
