@TheMovieMaker2 There really isn't a difference in quality. The difference comes in price. A p2 cheap p2 card is around 500. You can get a sd card for 50.

That girl have 7,986 CCD, that will be the perfect camcorder.
-
Whats the difference between P2 cards and sd? Does p2 get better quality?

i have last years version of final cut 2 will i be able to use that to edit without transcoding

The model is smoking hot, I have added this to my favorites!!!
just curious, why are the transitions so pixelated????
and why is it so over exposed???

The transitions are pixelated because of the bitrate at which I rendered. It has nothing to do with the performance of the camera.
I did not shoot the entire video. There were hundreds of people playing with the camera, changing settings and filming. I just took all the random clips that were recorded that day and put them together. I did no color correction or adjustments in post.
This is not because of poor camera video quality, but user preference when filming.

Redone600,
Currently When you import the AVCHD footage it converts it to P2 DCVPRO HD. if you computer can handle that then you will be fine.

The short story is that the HMC150 is considered to be the low end of the HD line from Panasonic. I have used the camera and it records amazing video, it is much better than any HDV I have ever seen.
The HPX170 is a much higher end camera and uses DVCPRO HD. If you want to go with the best quality from a low cost HD camera get the HPX170. The P2 Cards are more expensive and you will need massive amounts of Hard Drive space, but in the long run DVCPRO HD is the way to go.

The video was shot in various formats depending on who was playing with the camera at the time. I think the Panasonic reps tried to keep it at 1080i 24fps as much as possible.
