Was Stonehenge the 'Lourdes' of its day? It's an alternative idea that our expert Mike Parker Pearson thinks could be in a critical condition due to a lack of evidence.

  • You want me to believe everything YOU say? I must be gullible then. LOLLLLLLLLL

  • @venuecam You can't tell that I was being sarcastic? Truly you are gullible and will believe in all sorts of hocus pocus, including healing bluestones where there's little historic/geological and testimonials to back it up. Who's the fool? LoL

  • @sonofherne so you're selling rocks that cure everything?? Do you have that in a written statement at the time of purchase so you are legally bound by your promise, or are you simply being sarcastic?

Either way what you said was foolish. Good luck whatever you sell.

  • @venuecam There's a reason these things come under "alternative medicine" because it's not near proven that stones or any of these alternative therapies actually do help or whether it's just a placebo. It's a question of faith and if you want to put your faith in a bit of rock, I have a load of it you can buy. It's guaranteed to cure everything from piles to toothache, & the occasional bout of wishful thinking.

  • @sonofherne seeing as we're being frank. YOu may want to research traditional chinese medice before you start spouting how stones don't heal mate. As for medicine theres plenty of it around that will make you sick. Radiation therapy, flu shots, Finestaride etc, etc. You have made your point and that's ok but you are not 100% correct.

  • @venuecam Let's get this straight, tourists aren't banned. To day visitors - yes. To people who want to visit outside of those hours, there are 4 times of the year where it's free to get inside the stones, but most of the year people can apply for private access for a small fee. That's pretty fair.

Let's be perfectly frank here, as we're not longer living in the stone age. Stones don't heal, medicine and science are your proof. SH having healing powers were invented in the 12thcentury.

  • @sonofherne do you have any scientific evidence that SH has no healing properties or are all your responses going to be based on your opinion? Tourists are still banned from entering...

  • @venuecam How so? Lourdes made a lot of money off common god fearing folk who needed healing. If SH was a healing centre it clearly didn't work. There are thousands of dead people buried around the henge, many with some pretty horrific injuries, from warfare and just hard living. The healing theory is that. Just a theory being backed up by some heavy publicity and a pair of archaeologists who need a new bent to earn them some dosh.

  • Stonehenge is an incredible construction!

    Thanks for sharing!

    Saludos from MACHU PICCHU Peru

  • If the original structure was meant for healing then I'm not surprised that visitors aren't allowed near it.
