No, this is utter BS. I put 17 identical cell phones (LG Chocolate) on two plastic rings (in a display case) around a dozen kernels and set them off, nothing happened (except my temporary blindness from all the little flashing screens ;p)
But it takes far less radiation to mess up your brain than to pop corn.
