psychology i feel can only take you near the steps. . the steps that lead you to the truth. . meditation on the other hand can help to climb those steps and on each step there ll be a new experience. . scientifically psychology analyzes the mind & experiences. . & meditation helps to experience rather than analyze..

Freudian Psychology states that we have three levels of the mind Conscious (aware) , Preconscious, and Unconscious (Unaware). The unconscious part is where we have our repressed memories, deepest desires, fear and etc. I think that the ancients used "Meditation" as a tool or as a mode of communication through the unconscious mind. And it's amazing how little by little we realize that the roots of the science of the mind can be dated back to ancient teachings.

I am student studying Psychology and I can say that based from what we have learned in books, It is as parallel as to what ancient teachings such as meditation or the wisdom that Guru Ji is applying. Honestly, I am still in awe every time I hit the play button on The Art of Living videos because there's just so much similarity. And I think that Psychology is the scientific form of the ancient teachings. Both are powerful, and if combined, they can lead us to greater truths.

Really amazing, how people look at meditation as just a tool to relax. If only everyone knew how powerful meditation is, there would have been no need of psychologists & tons of therapies to bring back that happiness in ones life, which is lost somewhere between the mind & the ego. There's still hope that some day meditation will be synonymous to the prayers offered everyday, because god is everywhere, just close the eyes, and u ll be surprised when u realize he's within you.
