    The Girasole part is true but they are native to North America

  • The reason why they are called Jerusalem Artichoke is because when they were first brought to Italy, from wherever they were originally from, the Italians were calling the Girasole, which is their word for Sunflower, because that's what the thought they were. Then I guess people thought Italians were saying Jerusalem not Girasole. The the artichoke part is just because of the flavor. So I gues you can name them artichoke sunflower!
