Merlin my budgie has really started to come out of his shell got him in may as a baby and had him for a month now. He (assuming he is a he and doesn't turn out to be a she) is a cheeky little character and I have recently discovered he loves to sing/tweet/chirp and make strange noises along to music played on the radio. It appears he also has a mute button because everytime I stop the music he stops singing haha but I managed to catch him out for a couple of seconds during this clip. I think he may learn to talk soon as he has started copying kiss sounds I taught him...but we shall wait and see if he learns to talk or not!

  • Hi could you please help me ? I have a Lution as well and I don't know if is a HE or A SHE . I know is very hard to tell but it looks just like Merlin. I think it's a He but, I got him last year in December , and he was just 3 months old. He is not a friendly bird , hi bites really bad , but he is the most lovley in my eyes...and sometimes crazy:P.. I love him to bits. Could you please give me advice how to train him or how to tell his sex. thank you

  • lovely !

  • cool

  • Looks just like one of my male parakeets!! Is that a Lutino budgie?

  • aww how cute mine does the same thing and he immitates kiss sounds as well hope he learns to talk as well. Good luck with yours.

  • does your bird ever bounce to the music?

  • my bird does the same thing ^_^

  • I forgot to put in my last comment that Sherbert also loves wolf-whistling, and even impersonates the sound of the telephone going off - we get confused because sometimes we don't if it's him or the phone. My dad calls him a "people budgie" as he loves company. I have a habit of frequently turning the sound off the tv and when Sherbert's in full flow he stops chirruping and often gives me a dirty look in disgust. He has toys such as mirrors and a bell, but he also loves his pot bird Joey.
