A bush fire believed to be started by an abandoned camp fire has killed 3 people in the Boorabbin National Park between Coolgardie and Southern Cross. The men died in their vehicles as they drove through the fire on Great Eastern Highway. The highway was closed to all traffic, but the Dept. of Environment and Conservation gave the all clear and let them through.
