Hate On Gay Marriage

Some thoughts on these overused statements:

"Being gay is a sin."
"Marriage should be between a man and a woman."
"What's next; someone wants to marry their dog?"
"Why would you want to get married anyway?"
"If people are raised by gay parents that'll make them gay."

Marrying your Dog?!? Well, Caligula declared His Horse to be a Senator......or was it a God? And I'm sure there are some people or cultures where animals are wed to humans......but I would have to research that one....

Book of Leviticus? Don't get me started!

@eibon81 People who use the excuse of the verse from Leviticus are more then silly. ChuckMeIntoHell tackles the "dog" excuse real good on how both parties need to consent for marriage to work in his 3 part video about gay marriage excuses etc.

Yes, it's not even about gays. It's about ignorance of the Federal Constitution, and the protection of equal human and civil rights guaranteed by that document. Though I totally agree with you, it wouldn't make a bit of difference if being gay WAS a "sin", or if being gay WAS supposed to be "between a man and a women"! It wouldn't matter because the U.S. Constitution guarantees RIGHTS to fully franchised citizens. It's as simple as that, and all of those other arguments are irrelevant!

@justanote7 The so called "arguments" people have against it are the silliest things I've ever heard; there are hundreds of ways to rebutte them. Have you watched ChuckMeIntoHell's 3 part series or any of it about gay marriage? It's very thorough and goes into all the silly things people say and all the reasons they don't make sense. I re uploaded them with his permission.

You were in the exact same position that I'm in right now. I address these same arguments over and over again. After a while its like bailing water out of a sinking ship.

Religion is not a rationale basis for depriving a group of citizens a civil right. The only way prop 8 proponents have prayer is to establish that gay marriage causes demonstrable harm to society. And how is that working out for them?
