http://www.usedcarstrucksseattle.com ,,Eleven Latin American countries want permission to urge the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals to strike down SB 1070, Arizona's anti-immigrant law. Mexico and a host of other countries petitioned the court on Monday in order to file friend of the court briefs that restate their opposition to the law.
The primary legal challenge against SB 1070 has since moved to the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, where both sides have spent the summer refiling documents and motions to argue about the law's constitutionality in the appeals court. This time, Mexico has been joined by Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Paraguay and Peru, who are all prepared to say that SB 1070 would harm international relations between their countries and the U.S.

In August, Secretary of State Comrade Hillary Clinton included the Department of Justice's lawsuit against Arizona in a document of U.S. achievements to protect human rights that was presented before the U.N. human rights commissioner. Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer, who signed SB 1070 into law on April 23 and has since become the primary spokesperson of the law, shot a letter to Clinton and demanded that the lawsuit be taken off the list.

Arizona is not without its allies in this battle, however. Michigan Attorney General Mike Cox has filed a legal brief on behalf of nine states supporting Arizona's immigration law.

Cox, who is running for Governor of Michigan, announced last week that Michigan is leading several other states into the legal fray on the side of Arizona. Alabama, Florida, Nebraska, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Texas, and Virginia, have joined Michigan in the amicus brief filed with the federal District Court.

  • Lets be clear though that the current law SB 1070 that is being challenged calls for police to question persons they have reasonable suspicion that they are here illegally, after they have been part of a traffic stop or home inquiry. I still don't see how it is racial profiling if you are questioned while being charged for an unrelated matter. Your anger is shared by many Americans. I live in a state, Illinois, with numerous sanctuary cities and with an illegal population of over 1 million.

  • Given the current trend of insane behavior by politicians this isn't extraordinary in that particular light. However, for those of us who walk with a level head, it's nuts.

  • Humm...I am sure that Mexico, CA and SA countries have immigration laws and limits and utilize them! Why can't the US do the same without all of this (fake) concern that bleeding hearts with no lives intervening and wasting time and money. Arrange buses and /or planes, give undocumented 6 months to gather their affairs, offers to leave early w/o penalty. If after 6 months, they are still here, they will go back to their respective countries via planes/trains/automobiles. Problem?

  • i stand against south american countries for violating basic inaliable rights!!!!

  • @critter2 I don't quite understand your grammar, but I support Arizona SB 1070, and would like my state, Illinois, to crack down on illegal aliens and those that knowingly employ them.
