I remember playing Rival Schools 1 extensively when I had it on the PS1. But this game has always been serious fun. Unfortunately, the second installment of the game wasn't released in USA/UK so I ended up having to import the Japaneese version of the game to play.
I feel disadvantaged in the gaming experience because of the language barrier, much like in my Capcom vs Tatsunoko videos for the Wii.
I recently acquired an adaptor for my x-arcade solo which allowed me to use my x-arcade solo (which I modified) on the Dreamcast. The videos in this series were the results.
I wanted to test how my joystick and the adaptor would perform. Whether I'd experience any latency/lag or other types of difficulties.

Dude, forgive the critique, but you are approaching this game wrong. This game is easily beaten on air combos, specially with Shoma. Take them to the air with a hard bat swing and from there you can hit at least 8 light punches, 1 hard punch (which will be the bat, and (if you're fast enough) hit him/her with the baseball befor they go down. Failsafe procedure (except in the classroom stage). There, they will just hit the ceiling and crash back down, although they'll take damage too.

I have the Dreamcast version. If this is the PS1 version, I'm impressed; it looks exactly like its DC counterpart.

Yeah, it was released in the US, but it was right at the end of the Dreamcast's American lifecycle, so it was hard to find it stores even at the time, thanks to that and it's relatively low print run. These days the game goes for about $100 on eBay.
