A question of perception.

  • Plants are devoid of central nervous systems, nerve endings, and brains. This is also from animal rights net: Do you agree that animals like dogs and cats should receive pain-killing drugs prior to surgery? Do you believe that plants should receive pain-killing drugs prior to pruning?

  • Hmm good points Met. Yea it all comes down to the question of 'who feels pain' doesnt it. My main point in this video though was that...really, how are WE to know if a plant feels pain, through the measurment of 'pain' that we as humans have applied to only animals. So that, yes, is a question that cannot be answered at the moment.

  • Recent studies from Bonn university have suggested that they can feel pain, going into detail about their system of roots functioning like the nervous system of lower animal species.

So, compassion for plants? Maybe. Doesn't mean I'm going to stop eating them lol. Guy's gotta eat.

  • Your point is futile, and not a very good comparison. Animal suffering, and struggle as you call it, has been documented and scientifically proven.

  • isn't eating the fruits the same thing as eating the eggs?

Some claimed the were going to be chicken so eating them is the same as eating a chicken. But the same arguments apply to the fruits also. The fruits were going to be a tree :)

  • Believe it or not, there are some animals who do not have a brain. Jellyfish is one of them.

Yes, it can be really confusing :)

  • what you say is really interesting. you got a very valid point to discuss with the vegans

  • I'm a bit confused because yes if your cells send to your brain to help u understand or recognize pain.. If you had no brain , how would u realise or recognise or feel the pain that the cells in your body are telling you to feel?

  • Nore explain what it feels like but every living thing, either moving or in a standard posistion can feel. So if you could just realise that emotions(feelings) are triggerd not by your brain but by the cells that have created your brain. So these C-Fibers that you talk of, really isn't whats sending you these feelings, its that of the cells, the little living moving things inside of your body that help you understand what pain is.

  • omg no ur stupid...reread that and actually pay attention ok...

  • no man i totally know what your saying...

  • eat fruits they help the plant, vegtables and meat kill the animal and plant
